Graduate House is the residential college of the Graduate Union and provides quality, affordable accommodation for Graduate Union members and postgraduate students from throughout Australia and overseas. Please be advised that Graduate House is a residential college and does not supply your standard hotel products within your room. Towels are supplied and we recommend you bring all required toiletries. Conveniently situated on University Square in leafy cosmopolitan Carlton, directly across from The University of Melbourne, Graduate House is only a ten minute walk to the Melbourne central business district and is served by abundant public transport to all of Melbourne's major attractions. With the sophisticated atmosphere of a club-style College, there is a choice of room configurations catering to the needs of all members and post-graduate students. Amenities of a modern four storey state-of-the-art facility have been successfully blended with the old world charm of the Victorian era in the ten adjoining terraces, which are the original buildings of Graduate House. The modern building provides deluxe and single rooms all with attached bathroom facilities. The beautiful terraces have been fully restored and offer single rooms with shared bathrooms for those seeking more modest accommodation. (images) Residents have their own contemporary kitchen with dining facilities for lunchtime and weekend meals. In the same wing are quiet private study and meeting rooms and, for more social occasions a comfortably appointed lounge complete with large screen plasma television and DVD player. There is also an adjoining games room for those seeking a competitive challenge. (images) Modern appointments, spacious living areas coupled with superb dining facilities make Graduate House ideal for extended stays or for a quick get-away which may be appealing to country members or visitors with reciprocal entitlements. | Who can stay at Graduate House? |
| Members of the Graduate Union of the University of Melbourne Incorporated can stay at Graduate House.
Graduates and diploma holders of The University of Melbourne or of other recognised tertiary institutions are eligible to become members of the Graduate House. |
| I'm an under graduate student, can I stay at Graduate House? |
| No, as Graduate House is a resident college providing accommodation for post graduate students only. |
| What if I arrive late/early? |
| Graduate House provides a duty resident to oversee arrivals during and after hours. Upon confirming your booking, you will be provided with a contact name and number of the duty resident that will be of assistance. |
| Is a car park available? |
| Car park is available at $6.00 per day, and must be pre-booked due to a limited number of spaces. Please write in your requirements in the "comments" section. |
| Do you supply toiletry, ie soap,shampoo etc? |
| Soap is provided upon arrival. |
| Does the room have a phone? |
| Phones are available only in the new building, you will need to see Reception regarding it's set up. |
| Does the room get serviced daily? |
| As we are a resident college and not a hotel, we service the rooms weekly. |
| What if I do not have all the meals including in the room tariff, do I get a refund? |
| If you do not consume all your meals provided, there will be no refund on your tariff on this meal component. |
| Is lunch available? |
| Lunch is available to residents at a cost.
