Jennifer and John extend a warm welcome to those who come to stay and enjoy the relaxed homely atmosphere of this beautifully maintained heritage listed Victorian home (b 1880) surrounded by masses of roses, camellias and lavender.

All rooms are exquisitely furnished to the period, yet feature modern en-suites and bathrooms with quality fittings.

A cosy lounge or the spacious back deck weather permitting provide the ideal retreats for quiet moments with a drink and a book or a convivial meeting place to swap and compare Tassie experiences with fellow travellers.

A delicious full breakfast cooked to order with fresh local and home grown produce is served in the breakfast room which overlooks the magnificent oak trees of St Georges Square. There surely can be no better place to start your day.

Guest Lounge - Our spacious lounge has a log fire and a great selection of books, magazines and games for your enjoyment. The house is licensed and we have wines, beer and soft drink available, as well as complimentary port, tea, or coffee and homemade treats.

Outside Deck - The deck is a recent addition to the house and a great spot to enjoy breakfast, coffee and a good book or a pre-dinner drink.

	Getting There :Airport Shuttle Bus meets flights and drops off at Ashton Gate - fare $12.00 per person. Taxi fares - approx $25.00 to $30.00. There is a bus service which operates from Hobart and Devonport to Launceston. By car: To reach Ashton Gate from the southern inlet proceed towards the city on Bathurst Street where you will pass Frederick St on your right. Take the next right hand turn into Elizabeth Street and follow this street through 4 sets of lights and up the hill to a roundabout. Ashton Gate is on the left corner of the roundabout and reception is via the front door.

Launceston is the third oldest city in Australia and it is easy to fill in a couple of days just taking in the history and architecture and exploring the city area with most attractions being within walking distance. At the end of High Street you will find our beautiful City Park, with its lovely old trees and Conservatory, Albert Hall, the Design Centre, Radio Museum and the resident Japanese snow monkeys who are always loads of fun. Boags Brewery is nearby and tours are conducted several times a day. The National Automobile Museum is opposite the park. It is short walk to the Seaport area, Tamar River cruises, Cataract Gorge recreational area, Penny Royal World, the Museum and Planetarium and the Inveresk Arts Centre. Launceston has a vibrant retail sector interspersed with lots of coffee and gift shops and galleries. Princes Square in Elizabeth Street is a peaceful spot with stately old oak trees, a beautiful fountain and surrounded on all sides by lovely old churches and buildings. Launceston is also a good base from which to travel the Wine Route, visit the Lavender Farm, and explore the many small character villages and historic homes to the south of the city.

We require 48 hours notice for booking cancellation otherwise total amount for booking will be charged
An administration charge of 10% of total booking cost applies to all cancellations.

No Show Policy

If no cancellation has been made and you fail to show up at the property, we will charge the full amount for the room/s booked
