Quiet but convenient location

Grosvenor in Cairns is located just outside the CBD, away from the night time noise but close enough to be within walking distance to the city centre (a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive). The public bus runs from 6am to after midnight and a bus stop is only 100 mts away. There is a great Indian restaurant immediately next door, an Italian restaurant just around the corner and within 300 meters are located a supermarket, a range of take away food outlets, a liquor store, a 20 hour convenience store and the famous Cock & Bull English style pub/tavern (huge meals & great value) Grosvenor in Cairns is an ideal base for your holiday or business travel.

	Car Parking : Free underground parking (up to 2.1 height) is provided for our guests who have a motor vehicle and we have security access to the building after 7.00 pm. Parking is also available on site for vehicles with a height greater than 2.1 meters.
	Getting There :Your Cairns accommodation at Grosvenor in Cairns enjoys a central location on the northern fringe of the city. From airport or Port Douglas Travelling into Cairns on the Bruce Highway (Sheridan Street), turn right into Grove Street immediately after passing the Captain Cook statue. Grosvenor in Cairns is immediately on your left. From Cairns Central and Railway Station Travelling north on McLeod Street, turn right at the second roundabout (Grove Street). The Grosvenor in Cairns is immediately on your right. From South on Highway Turn left onto McLeod Street at the first lights after the railway crossing. Turn right at the second roundabout (Grove Street). The Grosvenor in Cairns is immediately on your right. For complimentary taxi transfers from the airport or city, (which are offered in conjunction with any stays of 3 nights or more at standard rate) take the first available Black and White cab. Upon arrival, pay the cab fare, obtain a receipt and at check-in present the receipt to obtain a full reimbursement in cash. Please Note: does not apply to discounted tariffs or Specials.

Hardly anyone visits Cairns and does not take a trip out to see the Great Barrier Reef. A full Tour desk is provided with information on all day tours available in Cairns and the experienced on-site managers (Anne & Brian) can give you plenty of advice on what the various tours offer and can also make any bookings you require at 'no cost to you'. They can also put together accommodation + tour packages for you to cater for your individual tastes. There are tours that involve white water rafting, hot air ballooning, horse riding, bungijumping, 4 wheel drive coach tours to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation area, Reef tours that include an introductory scuba dive, helicopter or light plane scenic flights or the slower paced tours thorough the tablelands taking in various waterfalls and rainforest attractions.

Grosvenor in Cairns is located on the Corner of Grove Street and McLeod Street. A very good restaurant is located immediately next door, an Italian Restaurant is just around the corner and the famous 'Cock&Bull' English style pub/tavern is located only 250 metres away. We are very close (within 200 metres) takeaway food shops (2 pizza shops, a kebab shop, a Chinese takeaway shop, two fish and chip shops), a 24 hour convenience store as well as an IGA supermarket (open until 11 pm), a discount liquor store, a bakery and a delicatessen. It is only a 20 minutes walk to Cairns Central or 10 minutes to the Esplanade on Trinity Inlet. The local public bus service runs from 6 am until after midnight each day and there is a bus stop located within 100 meters of Grosvenor in Cairns.

1. Is the pool able to be used in winter?

Yes, the pool is solar heated and is used all the year around, in fact we have to turn the solar heating off in Summer as it gets too warm. The pool temperature during winter (our dry season, which is also our 'peak' season, runs from then middle June through to the middle of October each year) is usually between 20 and 25 degrees.

2. Do you have a lift?

Grosvenor in Cairns is a 3 storey 'walk up' apartment complex and there is no lift. Having said that, we always provide assistance with luggage to and from the apartments. If stairs are a problem then make sure you request a ground floor apartment when making a booking or an enquiry.

3. Can tours be booked at the Grosvenor?

Yes; we actually encourage our guests not to pre book tours or to book tours through a travel agent as you can locked in to a date and tour type that may not end up suiting you. We would prefer if our guests contacted us prior to arrival and gave us some information on the type of tours they would like to do. We have actually been on most of the tours and we use our experience to pick the best tours for each particular guest. There is no additional charge for this service. Although we may know which tours guests wish to book weeks before their arrival, we usually wait until 3 or 4 days before they arrive to book their tours so we can pick the best days weather wise for their tours.

4. Studios are the cheapest room type - do they have any cooking facilities?

Our Studios are the main bedroom section of a 2 bedroom apartment. When the interconnecting door is closed and locked the Studio can be let out as a separate room. The Studio on its own is a hotel room style of accommodation and while there are no cooking facilities, there are tea & coffee making facilities, a toaster and plates, cups, glasses and cutlery for 2 guests.

5. Are there hair dryers in the apartments or do I have to bring my own?

Every bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer so in a Studio or a 1 bedroom apartment there is one hairdryer n the bathroom while in a 2 bedroom apartment (2 bathrooms) there is a hair dryer in each bathroom.

Booking Policy

A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to secure the booking.
Person making the booking must be 18 years old or over.

Deposit Policy

10% of total booking cost will be charged to the credit card at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation/No Show Policy: Booking payments/deposit, less a $50 admin fee, are fully refundable for bookings cancelled 8 or more days prior to your scheduled arrival date. For bookings cancelled within 8 days of the arrival date during the period 1st November to the 30th of June each year, 1 night?s accommodation will be charged. For bookings cancelled within 8 days of the scheduled arrival date during the period from the 1st of July to the 31st of October each year (Peak Season) - there are no refunds and the full booking amount will be charged. No refunds for No Shows or early departure at all times.

No Show Policy

If a booking has not been cancelled and guests fail to arrive, then the full amount of the booking will be charged.

Child Policy

Child over 2 is considered as adult. Child aged 2 and under is free when using existing bedding or own portacot is used.
Portacots and highchairs are available for hire at $10 per night each.
