Welcome to Kurrajong House, Launceston's luxury Bed & Breakfast. Built in 1879, we are a lovingly restored Victorian home with charm and majestic ambiance - the perfect destination to unwind and relax.
Experience the elegance of our 7 en-suite guest rooms, retaining their Victorian charm while featuring all the modern amenities to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Sit down to a complimentary Sumptuous cooked breakfast served in the splendid conservatory which overlooks our private garden and courtyard.
Free off street parking is available. We are located within a few minutes walk of downtown Launceston, the third oldest city in Australia, which boasts an array of unique shops and fine dining areas. Kurrajong House has lovely views of Mt. Barrow and is situated in the surrounds of many beautiful Period Homes and gardens of Windmill Hill and nearby parks; The Bowls Club and Croquet Lawn, a Tennis Club and the new Aquatic Centre. A short drive takes you to the Cataract Gorge and Tamar Valley to visit our wineries/ vineyards, Seahorse farm, Platypus House, Gold mine, Tasmania Zoo, Beaches, Tamar Island Wetland Centre & Tamar Valley cafe's.
Enjoy our delightfully fragrant rose garden and courtyard in summer after bringing back something special to eat or drink (cheese/wine/fruit) from the Tamar Valley.

At Kurrajong House, we are a non-smoking property. However, we offer a designated outdoor smoking area. Please phone the day prior if check-in is likely to be later than 6pm as reception closes by 6pm. If you have a flight later than this time, please let us know to discuss leaving you a key.

	Check In : 2.15pm Check Out : 10am Reception Hours : Between 2pm and 6pm. Please check-in after 2pm only and before 6pm, please PHONE in advance if check-in is after 6pm as reception is closed by 6pm. Please phone the day before if check-in is likely to be after 6pm so as we can let you know where to find your room key.
	Car Parking : Free off-street parking is available. Please look for the parking and reception sign located off the side access lane that runs parallel to High Street.
	Getting There :Kurrajong House is 14 km from Launceston airport. Turn right from the airport, drive 1km to the main round-a-bout, turn right and follow for 13km through Kings Meadows town, continue without turning off. Drive through the first roundabout at David St, then to the next roundabout at Arthur St next to St Georges Square park, you will then see a little service lane at roundabout, turn left into this lane and follow for 200 metres until you see the sign of Kurrajong House Parking and Reception. You are now here and we do look forward to welcoming you to Kurrajong House.

Maybe an Ice cream or glass of wine at the Seaport? Stay on for a fine feast in one of the local restaurants, or come back to Kurrajong House for a discount voucher to one of our favourite restaurants. Local attractions include, Cataract Gorge, Tamar River Cruises, one of two museums and Art Galleries and Planetarium, 1842 for not only a great gallery but the Heritage walking tour they offer, and the Design Centre for great local gallery work also, Boag's Brewery tour, our many great fine dining experiences, City Park and the monkeys, Princess park and the wonderful water fountain, maybe a ghost tour, a concert in Princes Theatre or a band in one of the local drinking houses, visit one of our many book shops, a visit to our many magnificent churches with such grand architecture, and much more. The next day, enjoy one or more of our many heritage homesteads before driving up the Tamar Valley to the largest Wildlife park in Tasmania to see the devils feed. Then on to Grindleworld, the Swiss Village, then stop at a winery or two before the Grubbshaft Gold Museum, then onto Beauty Point to visit Platypus House and Seahorse Farm. You can purchase a triple pass at any one of these locations for a discounted ticket for all venues. If you choose not to have a car, we can organise a bus tours of Launceston and the city highlights, a Tamar Valley Tour, a Wildlife Park tour or a trip to Cradle Mountain for the day, just to name a few.

Adjacent to Launceston Aquatic Centre, Bowls Club, Croquet Lawns, Tennis Club, Windmill Hill Reserve, Boag's Brewery, City Park, Design Centre, Cataract Gorge, Tamar River Cruises, Tamar Valley Wineries, Inverest Museum and Art Gallery. Many tours pick up from our property.
