Penghana is an imposing Queen Anne Federation Mansion built for the General Manager of Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company in 1898. Located high on a knoll above Queenstown the mansion set amongst 2.5 acres of rambling gardens and Tasmanian rainforest has been carefully restored and renovated to offer you the finest accommodation in the region. The front entrance, Blackwood staircase, open fireplaces and grand rooms are reminders of a significant past.

The four spacious suites all feature queen size beds, ensuites and antique furnishings. The Jukes guest wing comprises two rooms with shared bathroom that is ideal for family groups. All rooms have TV/ DVD with a selection of DVD's available and wireless internet. A guest kitchen is available with tea/coffee facilities and a mini bar.

Enjoy the stately dining room, private guest lounge, full breakfast, a game of billiards, and a complimentary glass of port during your stay. The garden is an ideal setting to unwind with a drink from the bar or a Devonshire tea. Evening meals are available all year by arrangement.
Penghana is just a short walk to the town centre and West Coast Wilderness (Abt) Railway and an ideal location to explore the West Coast region. Plan day trips to Strahan, Macquarie Harbour, Bird River and Franklin & Gordon Rivers or try your luck at fishing in the surrounding lakes.

Penghana is the ideal venue for your next corporate meeting or business function, our dining room seats up to 24 people and the Ballroom/billiard room is suited for cocktails etc.

	Getting There :Hobart to Penghana, Queenstown approximately 249kms (about 3hrs 20mins) From Hobart follow the Lyell Highway (Route A10) to Queenstown and on arrival in Queenstown stay on the Lyell Hwy until you go over the bridge then take the first left into the Esplanade, turn right at King St, turn right into Preston St. Keeping to the right follow Preston St to the Penghana driveway on the right hand side. Burnie to Penghana Queenstown approximately 152kms (about 2hours 10mins) From Burnie take the Ridgley Hwy and continue on through Ridgley. Continue on the Murchison until you pass Tullah then left into Anthony Rd, following the signs to Queenstown. Turn left in to the Zeehan Hwy and this becomes the Lyell Hwy into Queenstown. On arrival in Queenstown turn right in to Esplanade before the bridge, then right at King St, then right into Preston St. Keeping to the right follow Preston St to the Penghana driveway on the right hand side.

West Coast wilderness railway, Gordon River Cruises, Sea plane & helicopter flights, jet boat rides, mine tours, Scenic World Heritage wilderness area drives, World Heritage rainforest areas, Strahan, Macquarie Harbour and the magnificent Gordon River are just some of the attractions nearby, making Penghana an ideal base to explore the West Coast

A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to secure the booking.

100% of total booking cost will be charged to the credit card at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made inside 48 hours will incur a 100% cancellation of booking fee. Cancellations made outside 48 hours will incur a minimum of 30% administration fee.

No Show Policy

If no cancellation has been made and you fail to show up at the property, we will charge 100% cancellation of booking fee.
