Getting There :Westella House is conveniently located beween Devonport and Burnie close to (within 15 minutes) to the Spirit of Tasmanian Ferry terminal and Devonport airport and approximinately 80 km to Cradle Mountain.Many day trips can be organized from Westella House. An easy drive from Devonport airport and Ferry Terminal(within 24 km). Take the highway signs towards Burnie and follow the exit sign off the highway 3 km from the town centre of Ulverstone. When coming from Burnie take the highway towards Devonport and following the Westella House exit signs at the third exit to Ulverstone. |
| Beach close by. several golf courses are within easy access, tourist drive to Cradle Mountain and all the tourist spots such as Leven Canynon, Stanley Nut, Creative Paper, Chocolate Factory. > Gunns Plains Gunns Plains is a scenic farming area. Featuring vineyards, and dairy, as well as the Tasmanian Reptile Centre, and Wing's Farm Park. >Gunns Plains Caves Home to some of the largest limestone shawl formations in the Southern Hemisphere. Featuring an underground stream and glow-worm display the caves are a delight to behold. > Preston Falls On your way to the Leven Canyon take a short walk from the road to view Preston Falls from the viewing platform, and take in the bush surroundings. > Leven Canyon A 250m-deep ravine, the Leven Canyon is a spectacular sight. From the enchanting picnic area, follow the rainforest walk to the cliff-face viewing platform and gaze at the breathtaking scenery. > Cradle Mountain Tasmania's most recognisable landmark is the craggy profile of Cradle Mountain. Devonport has a number of interesting attractions close to the City Centre including aboriginal rock engravings, a maritime museum which traces the history of the region dating back from white settlement. > Don River Railway and Museum This Devonport museum features Tasmanian's largest collection of steam locomotives and carriages. Vintage Trains running hourly, and a Steam Train runs on Sundays and Public Holidays. |
