The Best Western Plus Travel Inn

Lovely warmth - in both the physical sense (a cosy room on a chilly day was a lovely haven) and metaphorically too - the team were so welcoming. I loved the location as it provided ease of access to everything I needed while still giving a feeling of being out of the hustle and bustle. As it was my first visit, I was taken by surprise at the spaciousness and particularly by the size of the outdoor area with the pool and relaxing informal areas. I'm looking forward to returning in summer and maybe even making use of that BBQ I spotted, although the temptation of Lygon St may be too much to resist!

There is insufficient manouvering room into the side areas of the Best Western Cartlon underground parking area. During my last visit another hotel guest panicked when she thought the sliding gate was going to close and she jammed me against one of the concrete posts resulting in a considerable damage claim. Even though I love the location and have stayed there for years, I am reconsidering this for future visits to Melbourne.

Thje breakfast deal was amazing value and the food excellent. Breakfast staff were execellent. Beds very comfortable An excellent venue. Thank you

Convenience of the location is very handy for access to REB and Museum. Tasty Breakfast options- matress felt like it was on the way out- very uneven and tilted, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Disppointed yet again to find people smoking on the balcony near my room for 2 of the 3 nights of my stay, which completely spoils my enjoyment of the hotel.

Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify our hotel rooms are non smoking as are all our "walk way" balconies. Guests are permitted to smoke in the court yard & we apologise if this disrupted your stay. If you were at all uncomfortable & notified our staff we would have happily moved you to another room. In terms of the room deodoriser if this was at all unpleasant we do apologise & again if you mentioned the unpleasant smell to our staff we could again have moved you or asked the housekeeping to not spray such a strong scent in the room. Love place to stay, only complaint was that the bathroom was very small.

Staff were helpful, the location was excellent, the service was very good, the size of the room was excellent (3 adults in each room was comfortable), beds very comfortable, close to Lygon street cafes, close to the wedding we had to attend, 24hr reception, lighting over mirrors was inadequate for easily applying makeup.

Great place to stay when you want to go to Lygon St and also Exhibition building. Third stay - staff helpful and room clean. Nice to be able to open a window in room 110. Breakfast staff cheerful and friendly.

I was in Melbourne on business. I arrived quite late (7:00 pm) and the room assigned was ideal - quiet (which I'd requested) and pleasant. The desk staff were pleasant and arranging internet access was easy. My prepaid breakfast was unbelievably good for the small amount that I was charged. The location was also ideal because my meetings were at University of Melbourne, and I met people for dinner on Lygon Street. It is also fairly close to the city. The desk staff printed out my boarding pass, and they also arranged to mail an orthodontic apparatus back to me in Sydney, which I accidentally left in the room. All in all, an extremely pleasant stay at an impressive hotel. I'll be back.

Excellent...great helpful staff.....clean room with really cool set upfor functionality. So close to Lygon St and all facilities...close to city not "in" the city which was great.

Room was comfortable and roomy. Facilities provided were more than adequate for the one night we was there.

The room was very suitable for me, and I found the staff very responsive to a minor request I made

Fine -- needed a place to lay down the weary heaad before an early start and it was ideal. One minor quibble: the data port beside the bed started emitting a persistent beep-beep-beep tone in the middle of the night. It woke me up but then stopped!

This is our favourite place to stay in Melb, so convienent to everything, city, family and our last stay was a hospital visit.

Good location & friendly staff. Bathroom was newly renovated but the toilet to handbasin distance was too short. Also the square handbasin was not easy to use.

one fault, when trying to charge iphone, front desk staff were unaware that there was a dock in the room, we found this at about 11.00pmafter borrowing a charger from another guest

Enjoyed our stay. Very nice rooms and facilities and the whole experience was easy and confortable.

apart from being a bit surprised with the empty bar fridge and the occasionally mediocre TV reception the overall experience was pleasant. I however could not dial through to the front desk for some reason. Another slight issue was the height of the shower heads being rather low, especially considering the fact that i hardly consider myself tall at all.

I have been staying here for 20 years and I am always pleased with the service, staff and value for money. It's a great location(even though I walk to MCG, Etihad Stadium, tennis centre, etc,) good services and restaurants nearby. .

Apart from a small mix up with rooms, we were very happy with our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed thepool. The location is great close to Lygon st but not too noisy and easy acess to the CBD.

No fuss. It's a tad expensive but very convenient. This is my hotel of choice in Melbourne.

My overall experience was of a friendly, well appointed hotel where I received excellent service. In a very central location, I would certainly stay there again.
